A rapid supply of carbohydrates

They are ideally suited to all types of effort, whether low or high intensity. Why is that? Because their rapid carbohydrate intake better meets the needs of high energy consumption. But also because their texture makes them easy to chew, while still giving you the feeling of a meal and satiety! For longer, endurance-type efforts, our bars complement our natural gels and compotes. One does not replace the other! On the contrary, they all work together and give you the opportunity to alternate tastes and textures to avoid becoming bored.

Not just carbohydrates

In addition to their optimal carbohydrate content, our bars stand out for their fat content, thanks to the large number of oilseeds present and the subtle touch of extra virgin olive oil they contain. An exceptional quality olive oil, one of the richest in polyphenols and antioxidants.

Cereal-free cereal bars

At Baouw, we often refer to our products as ‘your cereal bars’. Probably out of habit. But in reality, that's not true: our Baouw energy bars contain no cereals whatsoever. And we obviously have good reasons for not using them. Cereal bars are also rich in gluten, which we don't recommend.

For all these reasons, and to avoid digestive problems during exercise, we've replaced cereals with noble foods: fruit, oilseeds, vegetables, spices, plants and even olive oil.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between cereal bars and your Baouw bars?

Your Baouw energy bars contain no cereals. And we obviously have good reasons for not using them. Cereal bars are rich in gluten, which is not necessarily good for our intestines. They are often refined with empty calories and very sweet. This is not the case with all cereal bars, but it is important to read their composition carefully before consuming them.

What sports are your Baouw suitable for?

Your Baouw are suitable for all sports in general, not just endurance sports. The composition of the recipes guarantees a continuous and healthy supply of energy, whatever the activity. The frequency of use, however, depends on the type and intensity of the activity.

Your bars, purées and spreads can also be enjoyed as healthy snacks throughout the day.

How long can you keep your Baouw?

Your Baouw products don't have a use-by date, just a best-before date (from the day of production, which is the recommended best-before date) that can vary from 12 to 24 months from production. This means that you can eat them even after this date: they may just have lost a little taste or hardened a little.

Your products are preservative-free. Your recipes have been designed to contain antioxidant ingredients (extra virgin olive oil, fruit, spices, plants, etc.) and to be as unrefined as possible in order to preserve as much naturalness as possible while ensuring a long shelf life. Thanks in particular to their highly protective packaging.

Are your Baouw suitable for people who are lactose or gluten intolerant, diabetics, etc.?

We recommend that all Baouwer sufferers with intolerances or diabetes check with their GP before using our products. Every case is different and it is important to know the patient's condition.

Nevertheless, all your Baouw are made with foods of high nutritional value. We've removed anything that could upset your digestion: lactose, cereals, gluten, etc... So they're all perfectly suited to the various intolerances of this type. On the other hand, they all include oilseeds, particularly for their fat content.

For diabetics, the aim of Baouw products is to maintain a low glycaemic index during exercise, to avoid glycaemic peaks and reactive hypoglycaemia. Our purees have no added sugar, so they have less impact on blood sugar levels and are therefore suitable for type 2 diabetics. We even have many consumers with type 1 diabetes who tell us that they get very good results when they eat Baouw.
