Baouw's 'Pineapple - Coconut' energy gel offers a refreshingly exotic flavour of pineapple and coconut. The sweetness of agave syrup and the richness of extra virgin olive oil complete the blend, providing a natural cocktail-like taste experience with no chemical aftertaste.

Natural performance

Designed for intense efforts to fill up on energy: the new Baouw energy gel combines performance, naturality and pleasure.

Baouw energy gel is made from 100% organic ingredients. The high fruit content gives you a natural sugar with no glycaemic spike, which blends perfectly with the agave syrup. The glycaemic index is particularly low, at just 15. Olive oil provides you with a source of lipids that can be used directly during exercise and helps to smooth your blood sugar levels. The ingredients in Baouw energy gel are made up of fundamental vitamins and micronutrients, including calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium.

It's also very practical, thanks to its compact, easy-to-grip, resealable bottle, which means it can be taken several times. Non-sticky and free-flowing, it's easy to digest and will help you avoid the mushy mouthfeel of a traditional energy gel.

You can consume up to 2 per hour to reach 60g of carbohydrates. It performs better than a traditional energy gel.

Gels opposed to ultra-processed gels

Conventional energy gels are mostly made from water and glucose syrup. Ultra-processed, they have a high glycaemic index and are not suitable for endurance sports.

With our alternative made from organic fruit and agave syrup, you can enjoy the same energy as a classic gel in the short term, while being healthy for your body. And that's without counting the taste of the fruit, unlike the flavourings used in other gels on the market, which often leave a chemical aftertaste.

Frequent questions

What's the difference between your gels and your Baouw purées?

The main difference between your gels and your purées is the carbohydrate content. Your purées, with no added sugar, contain an average of 15g of carbohydrates, whereas your gels contain 30g thanks to the natural sugars in the fruit and the added agave syrup.

The texture of your purees is more satiating because they're a little thicker, and the recipes are either savoury or sweet, so they're better suited to medium-intensity, long-duration efforts. Your gels, which are more concentrated, provide a real boost, are better suited to intense efforts and can be consumed either pure or diluted in a 500ml flask.

What is the difference between industrial energy gels and your Baouw gels?

At Baouw we've decided to make energy gels rhyme with naturalness, and at the same time, performance and health. In other words, energy gels that provide an optimal carbohydrate intake (30g per gel), are easy to chew and light to carry, but contain no refined sugars or other additives. In other words, they are energy gels made exclusively from foods found in nature, prepared in our own kitchens without the need for laboratory tests. Conventional gels, on the other hand, provide the body with large quantities of ultra-processed carbohydrates (such as glucose syrup), and are therefore not best suited to endurance sports. What are the main ingredients used in Baouw?

In your Baouw, you'll only find fruit, vegetables, oilseeds, plants, spices and extra virgin olive oil. All these foods are organic. You'll also notice that we don't use the term ingredients, but foods, because we prefer “real” cooking. Sports performance is important to Baouw, but only if it goes hand in hand with health.

How long can Baouw products be kept?

Your Baouw products do not have a best-before date, only a best-before date (from the day of production, which is the recommended best-before date) that can vary from 12 to 24 months from production. This means that you can consume them even after this date: they will only have lost a little flavour or have hardened a little.

Your products are preservative-free. Your recipes have been designed to contain antioxidant ingredients (extra virgin olive oil, fruit, spices, plants, etc.) and to be as unrefined as possible in order to preserve as much naturalness as possible while ensuring a long shelf life. Thanks in particular to their highly protective packaging.
